Little late this week as I spent Tuesday on a very turbulent/wifiless flight home
Awesome trip to Las Vegas with my dad and brother. We have done a lot of trips for Cowboys games, and this one certainly ends up atop the list.
We kicked off the trip at In N Out before heading to the Circa, played some blackjack, had a great Steak dinner at Peter Lugers and hit a nice Ohio State-Georgia-Dolphins Spread Parlay that cashed before breakfast on Sunday.
Circa was awesome, our room overlooked the Stadium Swin, so we woke up at 8 am and watched the Dolphins and Commanders from our window. Excellent water pressure on the shower there too.

Circa Sportsbook is top-tier

Nice view from the Room at Circa
Flipped over to the Cosmo for the last two nights, and watched the games on west coast time, which is the best.
We Rode PreSnap to a few nice parlay wins with Packers, Texans, Bears providing an awesome sweat at the MGM Sportsbook.

After losing the Lions we were back to near even, but we had the Cowboys on horizon.
We drove out to the Mountains Monday Morning to play Pauite, recap of the round below.

Really cool course, as good as any desert golf I played. It was 53 degrees and blowing at about 20-30 mph according to Arccos, so I definitely regretted my decision to wear shorts. Overall great golf day, had to jump right into the car and rush back to the Strip for the Main Event, Cowboys Raiders on Monday Night Football.
Now I’m no fool. The Raiders stink, but I’m Silver and Blue until the air is out of my lungs. I was jacked up for this game. By Monday, Vegas was flooded with Cowboys fans, when we walked in I started to get the feeling that it was a majority crowd for Dallas. When we got in that was confirmed, and I’d go as far as saying the proportions were similar or greater than a home game for the Cowboys.
This was a trip we had pegged as soon as they announced the Raiders were moving to Vegas. We always try to get to Dallas for a game but we knew this was the year the Cowboys were finally playing in Vegas, and a 10 year plan finally came together.
I was emotional. I love my dad and my brother, and I love that we’re fortunate to go on trips like this. War and Treaty crushed the National Anthem, and I was like Knowshon Moreno in the stands, tears pouring down my face. I was so grateful to be there, to be with my dad, to watch our team, and to share such an awesome experience over something as silly as the Cowboys.
Of course, our trip was capped off by the Cowboys playing their best game of the season, Dak Prescott was on fire, the defense looked like a competent NFL defense for the first time all year, and the crowd was shouting Let’s Go Cowboy’s throughout.
We walked back to the strip about an hour with 30,000 of our closest friends, cashed out our CeeDee and Pickens TD bets, and found Secret Pizza at the Cosmo to end the night.
Shoutout to T Money for battling back at the tables that night to end the trip in the green. Very impressive work from the young man.
Couple thoughts on Allegiant Stadium. I have now been to half the NFL Stadiums,
Dallas, Philly, New York, Washington, New England, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Arizona, Indianapolis, Tampa Bay, San Francisco, LA, and now Vegas.
The stadium was kind of whatever. The concourses were crazy small, the bathroom lines were insane, and you can’t see into the field at all from the concourses. It was very weird and cramped.

We had awesome seats which made the game viewing amazing, it helped that there were maybe 4 Raider fans within a Beer toss away from us, it was all Cowboys.
The game day atmosphere was as good as anywhere I’ve been for an NFL game, it was Monday Night so that was heightened, but the in stadium pyro, entertainment, and the Vegas-iffied presentation blew us away. They had a band playing the MNF theme as the Raiders lined up to kick the ball off which was awesome, a real act playing the Anthem, and even Nelly at halftime. I’m not a big Nelly guy but when he got to the hits we were rockin. Pretty cool little bonus.

Best Show I’ve Watched this Week
This show ROCKED. I stumbled into it on Youtube and was immediately hooked. I do love me some US history, and I was moderately familiar with the story of Garfield’s assassination, but this show left me wishing for 5 more episodes. Matthew McFadden (Tom from Succession) is so good as Guiteau, an absolute delusional mad man all the way through. James Shannon and Nick Offerman provide great performances as well, and I would recommend this show to anyone with any interest in US history with a few hours to spare.
Nostalgic Athlete of the Week
I saw a lot of Cowboys throwbacks in the stands this week and the one that kept popping up was my guy Marion Barber. I think I’ve used him before, I asked our 4th during our golf round, a very nice Army Vet and Cowboys fan from Philly who his 1-1 Cowboys player was and he said Marion, we knew we were in good company. What a monster he was. RIP
