Weekly Thoughts

Football is so fun until your team sucks ass and you realize you have 15 weeks of dog shit football and your decrepit owner and GM selling shit as if it was steak until you lose your mind. I told everyone who asked me I didn’t know who was going to win but whoever did was winning by 2 touchdowns. For a lot of you, I’m the only Cowboys fan you know. I have people who text me after shit like that genuinely checking in on my well-being. I’m happy to say that after the Parsons trade and the bullshit Masturbatory Netflix Documentary, I honestly don’t give a shit anymore. I am so done with Jerry Jones and the outside of football nonsense that comes along with the Cowboys. I’ll still watch, and still hope they win, and still enjoy when they do, but I don’t think it’s healthy to care where a loss effects my week. If I did, I think I would look like old ass Jerry at the end of this season. Because it’s gonna get real bad real soon. Lamb out 3-4 games, Booker out 3-4 games, Beebe already out 3-4 more games. The two tackles they have both suck. Sunday Night against the Packers you should have to spend a night in Jail if you bet on the Cowboys. It is going to be a drubbing to the likes you have never seen. 5.5 points for the Packers walking into the easiest get right game in the history of get right games is tragic. Put the Packers in every parlay, teaser whatever you want. I am guaranteeing the Cowboys lose by 7 or more Sunday. And if the game is close, Micah Parsons will make 1 or 2 plays that will widen the margin and end the game. That’s just how this shit goes.

They simply do not have the talent outside of their two defensive tackles anywhere on defense. I think I could’ve played defense on Sunday and you wouldn’t even have noticed I was out there with how bad the rest of the defense looked. Maybe it’s not personnel, if it isn’t than holy shit is the scheme bad. The Offense is solid but it’s pretty god damn hard to play offense knowing you have zero margin for error because your defense just let up 100 yards and 2 touchdowns on consecutive plays.

And to add insult to injury, the Arkansas guy who hit one oil rig in his life and parlayed it into running a reality show has 4 first round draft picks in the next two years to fix the defense, and by that time, the Quarterback will be 35 and most certainly not playing a full 17 game schedule with his history. Let’s look at the Cowboys defensive players drafted since 2018 in Rounds 1-4. I ask you, the well-brained not tortured football soul, how many of these guys could you actually name? My prediction is 4, you know Vander Esch, Diggs, Parsons, and maybe Overshown or Osa. The list cannot be long

It’s a dumpster fire that other dumpster fires would walk away from. I just can’t. But I don’t care anymore.

Great game here, I had a great cover on Oklahoma -6.5 with a safety on the final drive, pretty insane finish. I didn’t get to watch a ton of ball outside of the Cowboys and Monday Night this week, but I just love watching Oklahoma’s uniforms, so clean, so classic.

PreSnap went 8-8 so I didn’t use my credit card this week 🙂 . Did get a golf lesson over the weekend, that’s always a nice use of some extra cash. Let’s hope it pays dividends this weekend in the Final Major of the Season at Andover Country Club.

Still rolling on the movie kick, I think I Mandela effected myself into thinking I had seen Inglourious Bastards. Quickly into the first scene I realized I hadn’t and that was pretty great. What a movie. Brad Pitt is awesome, the comedic relief is incredible. I kind of knew the plot and knew what was going to happen but was surprised throughout. What a movie.
