If you’re living under a rock, or a blissful paradise I’d be interested in learning about, Jerry Jones traded the best player on the Cowboys, Micah Parsons, to Green Bay for 2 1st round picks and Kenny Clark.
My emotions were all over the place. My Dad called me trying to give Jerry the benefit of the doubt, he has that luxury because he can remember a time where Jerry Jones made good moves and won Super Bowls. I don’t have that luxury. Nothing in my 29 years as a Cowboys fan has given me any precedent to think he has ever once made the right decision regarding personnel. I’m mad about a lot of factors, I’m mad first off that Micah Parsons isn’t going to be playing for the Cowboys. He is so fun to watch, he makes watching the defense as exciting or more exciting than the offense at times, something I have never experienced as a fan at any level. I’m mad they traded him to Green Bay, not because of the playoff losses but because if you’re getting their first round picks, there’s a next to nothing chance that they are picking in the Top 15, especially now with Parsons on their team. You are banking on a QB injury and maybe a few more, that’s all that can derail Green Bay from having a pick between 24-32. I’m mad as well because they play in Dallas in less than a month. The Cowboys have a new coach, new coordinators, very little experience despite some talent in the pass rushing positions, and this sets up for a disastrous collision between the two teams where Parsons gets a few sacks and everybody begins to relive this disaster just a month after the trade. I’m just mad that the same process the Cowboys have done finally got flipped on it’s head. They should have paid him last summer. These negotiations should never be ending up in Hold-outs. Look at the Eagles, this shit never happens there, especially not with elite players, they pay early and worry about the dead money later.
Now I have gotten to the point where I can see some positives. First off, Kenny Clark is a good player and having the ability to stop the run is something Dallas hasn’t had in a long time. They have some good young pass rushers in Donovan Ezeiruaku, Sam Williams, Marshawn Kneeland, and Dante Fowler. World beaters? Don’t think so, but if their offense is as good as advertised, maybe stopping the run will be enough to get some good leads, the secondary is solid and will be better once Revel is healed, if they can have a winning record when Overshown returns they can still be a Top-10 Defense without Parsons. Additionally, the 2027 Draft (not next year, the year after) is heralded as maybe the most loaded Draft of All time. It will feature, Jeremiah Smith, Ryan Williams, Possibly Caleb Downs, Arch Manning, Julian Sayin, Kaden Proctor and on. If the Cowboys can play their cards right and use one of their 1’s in 26 or 2’s to get another 1 in that pick, they could line themselves up really well for the QB of the future and not have to force him into playing early given Dak’s history. I would trade Micah for Jeremiah Smith right now, without hesitation, with contracts involved etc.
That’s the point I land. Are you really going to pay a guy $47 million a year? Not to mention with Lamb and Prescott, that’s a total of $140 million a year on 3 players. What does that do to a team like the Cowboys who do draft well and get solid homegrown talent? It leads to good guys getting paid elsewhere. Daron Bland just got his extension, Diggs is locked up if they want him, Tyler Smith is due up, George Pickens is very affordable now, and if they need more pass rush? They can go out and get some at the Deadline. If they actually take this as a reset I like the prospects of that, reload and when Washington has to pay Daniels as the Top QB, then you get in the “Glory Hole” as Jerry would say with a young QB or Dak at a discount. I just think they needed to either trade him to a bad team or force Green Bay to add another team to swap 1s with.
More on this later during the Jerry Documentary review
I dropped my daughter off at Daycare this morning and she was pumped to see me go and hang out. I was expecting to be very sad but she did a great job smiling the whole time that I didn’t get to that point. She’s the best.

How My Teams Played this week
Adding in this section so the game of the week isn’t just Buckeyes and Cowboys.
The Rightful #1 team in the country has now defeated, Texas, Notre Dame, Texas, Oregon, and Tennessee in their last 5 games. Matt Patricia’s defense had Arch Manning in hell, which for Peyton was probably pretty similar when he faced Patricia and Belichick, not so much Eli.
I had high hopes for the defense and think the Pass Rush will develop over the season. Their Linebackers are really solid and they have the best secondary featuring the best defensive player in the country in Future Dallas Cowboy Caleb Downs.
I thought Julian Sayin looked comfortable, which is most important. He didn’t force the ball, and he made the right decisions outside of missing Jeremiah Smith over the top on 4th down, but even that he hit the TE in between the numbers for what should’ve been a first down.
OSU will be undefeated when they go to Ann Arbor in November. Michigan looks solid too but Nevada did have some success against them. I am taking Michigan over Oklahoma this weekend.
Last comment on this game, I am a Ryan Day Nipple ring denier. This is doctorerd and they are holding my man down with these allegations. That being said, if he does have one pierced I hope when they beat Michigan this year he gets the other one pierced in the locker room on Live TV. Would be electric content.
Wild: The viral photo of Ohio State HC Ryan Day with a nipple piercing has been proven to be FAKE.
The photoshop fooled millions of football fans 😅

Best Game I watched this week
My brother was in town to be the Godfather for my Baby’s Baptism. Love hanging and watching ball, he came over Sunday after the party to heat up some of the Italian food left over and stayed to watch the game. He asked me for a bet, I had Miami +3.5 and Under 56.5 as the last leg of a 2 game parlay, he showed up telling me he bet over 50.5. We sweated this out and played some Madden while we watched, and the game landed at 27-24, 51 total points. Both winners. I wish I tried to middle my parlay and got the double but happy with a win and a solid weekend against the book.
Best Show I watched this week (kind of)
I’ve been outspoken on my disdain for Jerry Jones. He hasn’t won anything of circumstance since High Definition television was prominent. I don’t give a flying fuck about the TV deal he got the NFL. I want my team to win. This documentary did an okay job of showing how the Cowboys won despite Jerry Jones.
The main takeaway I have is Jerry Jones hit about a 5 year string of unbelievable luck and used up a good junk of the good karma he had earned. He borrowed $50 Million to buy an oil well that hit and he thought he invented oil. He hired Jimmy Jonson who built the team and Jerry thought he did that too. He thinks he picked all the players from the Herschel Walker trade, Jimmy did. He went and hired Barry Switzer, they won a Super Bowl but it was a disaster, since then, he has hired Barry Switzer every time he needed a coach outside of when he brought in Bill Parcells, who built their best teams of the 2000s. This made me more mad, I watched Episode 8 first because it’s modern day and didn’t make it past 5 when I watched it. The trade has me in a very angry place.
Best Thing I Bought this Week
Not a purchase, but the fine folks at PUR Golf sent over their Truth Trainer that I hooked up on the Putting Green down in the basement. It’s awesome, really have my stroke dialed in and will be great throughout the winter to practice. Definitely a little pricey, but if you are looking to improve sometimes you gotta bite the bullet. They have a mini one too both linked below, that would be very helpful. It has a stringline for your eyes, gates for start line, a ball slot for consistent alignment and even a track for you to lock in your stroke. Check it out
Podcast Episode of the Week
Always like this yearly episode. Ryen and Sheil go position by position and rank the Top 5 at each. Took a while to hear a Cowboy named, but they do have the best Kicker despite what anyone says.
Nostalgic Athlete of the Week
With the Micah Trade I’m just thinking about guys I wish were still on the Cowboys. D-Ware might be number one.
