Tully Tuesday's Volume #77 Almost, PreSnap, Mr. Mom

August Thoughts

• Alright some Mid Am recap. I didn’t make it. I played one of my best rounds of the year. The Cut was -1 and as the third to last tee time I knew on the 18th tee I needed to make an Eagle to advance. The Alternate spots rarely get in and I had to go for it. Hit a great drive into a fairway Bunker that I thought was out of reach. Had to hit a Hybrid off an uphill lie to try and get it 235 to the green. Caught it thin and my day was done. My ninth hole is what cost me. They let us know they may have to cut the qualifier at nine due to impending rain. I decided to play it smart, laid up off the tee and put myself 110 out after my second. That’s my favorite number, but I didn’t account for the wetness on a lie above my feet and ended up in a nature preserve short of the green and had to drop. My goal was no doubles, and my caddy Lucas did a great job of keeping my head on after that. I’ve been working really hard on my putting and you can see in the Strokes Gained that paid off. I made everything inside 10 feet. Tee ball took a while to come around but didn’t punish me all day. That approach on 9 lost me 2.5 shots and that’s what I missed the cut by. I didn’t have a lot of good looks at birdie on the back, and I left a few 20 footers short. All in all, my best performance in a qualifier and just tough luck that the cut was under par. I’ve only shot under par once this year and playing a course I’ve never seen before wasn’t the time for it. Bummed to miss out on the Mid Am but finally feel like my game is competition tested enough to compete going forward.

  

• I’m Mr. Mom this week, taking care of G-Unit now that my wife is back at work and we have a week before Daycare starts. Having a great time. She’s been crushing some big naps and my mom has helped out so I’ve been able to be pretty productive at work in the meantime.

• We are going run some fun pools this fall with the PreSnap app. The first is my Touchdown Survivor Pool. You get 2 lives for the season, you can pick a player once for the whole year, each week you pick a player to score a TD, if he does you advance, if he does not your tribe has spoken. PreSnap App and Podcast

Fire me up! We are ready for football season and I’m jacked about some of the new stuff coming out from our team at RoadMap. First off, the PreSnap Podcast will be released next Thursday before opening night. I’m really excited to expand my role and include a mix of the skills I’ve built in my career. Best Game I watched this week

Elimination game on Thursday night. What a game. The starting pitchers were nails and then in the 6th and Extras they floodgates were wide open. 5 Runs in the Top of the 7th only to let up 6 in the bottom to lose. What an insane game this was. I love these LLWS games and this was the game of the tournament.

Podcast Episode of the Week

If JOC is on PMT no other show has a chance to make this segment. I can’t get enough Jerry O’Connell he is so goddamn funny and fun when he goes on PMT. I want him to be my best friend.

Best Show I’ve Watched this Week

Not a show but this video made me laugh harder than I have in years.

Working my way through the Cowboys doc, I like that they show Jerry’s mistakes but it still feels like he’s getting a good edit. White house and 94 season stuff was pretty interesting. Jimmy definitely fell on the sword for the split but that’s bullshit. Full review next week

Nostalgic Athlete of the Week

Cowboys Eagles is 9 days away. Throw some respect on Dez Bryant’s name in the meantime
