Tully Tuesday's Volume 58, Masters Week and New Plans
Masters week is a great time, it feels like the only time all year all the eyes in sports are on Golf. I’m stoked, the weather looks good in Augusta and terrible in Massachusetts which is a very solid combination for a weekend of watching golf.
I don’t really have a good feel for this year. Last year Scottie seemed so obvious and ended up being a very easy winner pick. There feels like some Rory momentum but isn’t their always? You can count on Brooks or Bryson to ball out and make a run but which one? Who is watching enough LIV to know?
My Pool picks are
Scottie
Rory
Bryson
Tom Hoge
Akshay Bhatia
Mav McNealy
We don’t have tiers so that might be hard to ride or fade, but that’s where I’m at.
My Wacky 9 leg make the cut parlay is
Lowry
Xander
Spieth
Day
Bradley
McNealy
Hoge
Harmon
Koepka
+2239
The Agenda
I’m going to structure the non-football season blogs a little different.
Starting with The Best Video I watched this week
Easy pick for me. I love Gruden. Will Howard won me a Championship. Will seems like a great dude and I’m a little bummed there’s no chance of him being a Cowboy after they picked up Joe Milton. Who probably stinks but they gave up basically nothing for him. Those are the moves every team should make, so I can’t complain there.
Gruden has some great one liners in this video and you can tell he’s so jacked up to be able to run this show again. It was one of my favorites.
I was so sold on Dak after this and he has been a great QB for the Cowboys despite what the haters say. This show is the balls.
Nostalgic Banger of the Week
You just can’t listen to this song and not sing at the top of your lungs.
JoJo had a great run in the 2000s.
Best Article I’ve read this week
Great look into Nantz before the Masters, the first of his 11 year retirement tour. A little disappointing that he doesn’t still have the Toast picture in his wallet to be honest.
Best Game I watched this week
Duke vs Houston, Final Four
An all time classic. I cannot believe what I watched on Saturday. I was feeding the baby on the end of the bed just enthralled by the meltdown from Duke. I was also riding a live Houston ML ticket, so that was pretty tight. I don’t think the Flagg foul mattered because it looked like Houston was going to get the rebound, but that was the moment where it felt like Duke was completely done for. Not to mention taking 4 seconds to foul after the previous miss. Just a horrible final 10 minutes of that game for Duke, and Florida was able to do the same to Houston last night. Fun Tournament even without the upsets, lot of great hoops.
Nostalgic Athlete of the Week
This is a bit of a cheat because it was only 13 years ago and he just got out of the league, but in honor of March Madness coming to a close how about a little Kemba Walker on a Tuesday?
One of the greatest individual runs in tournament history, and one that brought UConn back to the top of the sport.
Til Next Week
