I’ve been holding back on my Cowboys thoughts, I know the interest is not particularly there for the audience but I only go to therapy Bi-Weekly so this is going to have to be my channel today. When the Cowboys traded their best player this is what I said

From Tully Tuesday’s Volume #78

My emotions were all over the place. My Dad called me trying to give Jerry the benefit of the doubt, he has that luxury because he can remember a time where Jerry Jones made good moves and won Super Bowls. I don’t have that luxury. Nothing in my 29 years as a Cowboys fan has given me any precedent to think he has ever once made the right decision regarding personnel. I’m mad about a lot of factors, I’m mad first off that Micah Parsons isn’t going to be playing for the Cowboys. He is so fun to watch, he makes watching the defense as exciting or more exciting than the offense at times, something I have never experienced as a fan at any level. I’m mad they traded him to Green Bay, not because of the playoff losses but because if you’re getting their first round picks, there’s a next to nothing chance that they are picking in the Top 15, especially now with Parsons on their team. You are banking on a QB injury and maybe a few more, that’s all that can derail Green Bay from having a pick between 24-32. I’m mad as well because they play in Dallas in less than a month. The Cowboys have a new coach, new coordinators, very little experience despite some talent in the pass rushing positions, and this sets up for a disastrous collision between the two teams where Parsons gets a few sacks and everybody begins to relive this disaster just a month after the trade. I’m just mad that the same process the Cowboys have done finally got flipped on it’s head. They should have paid him last summer. These negotiations should never be ending up in Hold-outs. Look at the Eagles, this shit never happens there, especially not with elite players, they pay early and worry about the dead money later.

I’ve been outspoken on my disdain for Jerry Jones. He hasn’t won anything of circumstance since High Definition television was prominent. I don’t give a flying fuck about the TV deal he got the NFL. I want my team to win. This documentary did an okay job of showing how the Cowboys won despite Jerry Jones. The main takeaway I have is Jerry Jones hit about a 5 year string of unbelievable luck and used up a good junk of the good karma he had earned. He borrowed $50 Million to buy an oil well that hit and he thought he invented oil. He hired Jimmy Jonson who built the team and Jerry thought he did that too. He thinks he picked all the players from the Herschel Walker trade, Jimmy did. He went and hired Barry Switzer, they won a Super Bowl but it was a disaster, since then, he has hired Barry Switzer every time he needed a coach outside of when he brought in Bill Parcells, who built their best teams of the 2000s. This made me more mad, I watched Episode 8 first because it’s modern day and didn’t make it past 5 when I watched it. The trade has me in a very angry place.

So am I surprised at the absolutely clown show of a football team the Cowboys are? Not at all. Am I disappointed? Yes. But in the way you’re disappointed at a dumb dog for doing things a dumb dog does. You can get upset but how can you be mad at your own dog?

I’d have a hard time if I was the Cowboys General Manager not putting up a for sale sign on just about any player on the Cowboys other than Dak or Brandon Aubrey. You want Ceedee Lamb for a 1 and a 2? Go for it, Pickens? Williams? Osa? You need a total rebuild.

I’m going to the next game which is Monday night football two weeks from last night in Las Vegas, I think it’s the last game the Cowboys will win this season. Really excited for the trip and glad the game is the last item on my itinerary given the obvious overwhelming odds of another disaster on the horizon.

Thank God for Ohio State. I cannot even explain to you the difference in calmness between watching those two teams. One does things the right way, One has their General Manager sitting next to Stephen A Fucking Smith during the game on National Television.

Not to mention the level of hell it is to be out of the playoffs before the bye week with your quarterback healthy. There is no excuse or glaring absence despite the one the Oil Donkey placed upon himself.

Alright lets move on.

Best Game I watched this week

Was this the greatest baseball game of all time? The stakes so high, the clutch hits and defensive plays and pitching and everything. What an unbelievable way to finish a season. The Dodgers for all their Star Power showed an unbelievable amount of Grit, and to get the Homers from Muncy, Rojas, and Smith was just a storybook way to end a repeat. They will be back next year and probably just as good.

Best Thing I Bought this Week

Nothing but the DF3 has been a game changer. The Podcast of the week has some details, but I started looking at the hole on putts inside 10 feet and made 7 birdies in 2 rounds last weekend as well as a bunch of up and downs.

Podcast Episode of the Week

This is fascinating. Dr Mackenzie is really interesting and I like his takes on a lot of the Golf science. I recommend giving his methods a try if you are looking to make some gains this offseason practicing.

Best Show I’ve Watched this Week

I love Tim Robinson. This show is so goddamn funny and actually has a really solid plot. Must watch label. If you have seen any of his work you will love this show.
